Growing up!

Today I got the opportunity to spend the day in a Student Teaching orientation. I'll let you make your own assumptions on how that went! But on a serious note, I got to see all the lovely people I have been in class with for the past I don't even know how many semester which is always a treat!
After orientation, a few of the girls that I am really close with went out to get some food at Friday's. As always, we had a wonderful time and it was full of laughs and jokes! ---------->
On my drive home after about FOUR hours of sitting around laughing and enjoying our time with a HILARIOUS waiter, I got to thinking. This was my last Friday of not having a care in the world before I really need to grow up. Sure, we joke about how we need to be adults starting Monday, but we all know its true. We really are getting our feet wet in the real world. The more I thoughts about this and the more it was sinking in, I realized how excited I truly am. I may also be VERY nervous, but I can't wait to see what I can bring to the table.
I just thought it was interesting that it took an evening with good friends to realize that everything we have already accomplished in our journey will be put to good use in just a few days. I wish these ladies and everyone else in the SPED major at SCSU the best of luck in all your adventures!!

Lets see how this goes.

This is the first blog I have ever attempted to create, so for those of you that are following me and reading this, please be patient while I figure this all out :-) So where to begin on my first blog? Maybe with why I am doing this. I had lunch today with a friend who I consider to still be a good friend of mine; although I do not see her as much as I would truly like to. But this lunch date was necessary; she leaves for Africa in a week and will be gone for almost 4 months.
But back to why I am doing this. She showed me hers and I fell in love! I figured this would be a good way for me to follow her in all of her lovely adventures to come! But not only does she start her adventures in a week; I get to begin a new chapter in my life as well! I start student teaching at a middle school in Elk River on Monday (10th). Nervous, excited, scared and anxious hardly cover how I am feeling about this new experience. It is my first setting in an EB/D classroom. And for those of you who have no education about...well, education, EB/D stands for Emotional Behavioral Disorders. Now some of you think I am crazy, but I love everything about it and can't wait to see what challenges these students throw at me! It is going to be chaotic and hectic, but I wouldn't have it any other way. Anything else, I think I might get bored with my life! But I will keep all of you anxious readers on your toes with my adventures! ;-)
